India Vision Institute’s year-long “National Optometry Awareness Campaign” was launched today by Mr Sean Kelly, Australian Consul General for South India, with the release of a music video featuring Ollie the Optometrist & The Wizard of Oz Gang. A range of activities are planned during 2014 to raise awareness about eyecare and the important role played by optometrists in eyecare delivery.

The Oz Gang & Ollie the Optometrist with Venky who co-ordinated the filming so skillfully, Christerine who colourfully costumed the cast & helped train the little ‘uns and event manager Mohan Daniel without whom the tour would never have been so successful!
Brian Laul, director of The Wizard of Oz Show & creator of Ollie the Optometrist, speaking at Velammal Knowledge Park’s production of The Lion King where the team was honoured with momentoes. It was a truly inspired effort, very impressive for a school production. Kudos to all involved on stage and behind the scenes.
Ollie spent these days taking his message to the Chennai streets and filming the music video for his theme song with the Oz Gang.
The performance at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall was a super hit. It included over 200 local children!
